One of the main priorities of the Foundation "America for Bulgaria" is to allow young talents all over the country to improve and to show their talent. For six years over 23.400 students touched the dance, classical music, arts and jazz thanks to the educational programs supported by the Foundation. We are honored to support Dilyana Nikiforova and her followers created a Ballet academy in Maryan. The efforts of some of the biggest stars of Bulgarian ballet to share their experience, knowledge, love to dance with young people deserve respect. Good luck!
Kathy and James Pardew in Elena
His Excellency James Pardew was US ambassador in Bulgaria from 2002 to 2005. During his diplomatic mission in our country he and his wife Kathy showed keen interest in cultural life, especially dance, music and visual arts. During the same period they actively support the National Ballet. After leaving the country they continued to maintain contacts with the ballet artists and to be excited about the development of ballet in our country. In August 2011 they came from the USA to visit the National Ballet performance “Carmen”, which was held on the “Stage of the Ages” at Tsarevets in Veliko Tarnovo. Shortly thereafter, they visited the village of Marian and town of Elend, where the conception of the Ballet Academy was presented. In 2012 Kathy and James Pardew decided to make a personal donation to the “Ballet Academy Marian.” Subsequently it became traditional. The donation supports the Academy financially. It is a great gesture and on the other hand it is a compliment to the professionalism of the organizers of the Academy. With gratitude and respect! Dr. Diliana Nikiforova
Petya and George Topalov live in Pittsburgh (USA) with their two daughters –
Alexandra and Emma. Alex and Emma began their ballet training at the age of three. They studied in Colorado Conservatory of Dance and Pittsburgh Youth Ballet. In the summer of 2013 during their vacation in Bulgaria Alex and Emma took part in the “Ballet Academy Maryan” under the direction of Dr. Diliana Nikiforova. Highly impressed by the level of teaching and dedication of teachers and students, Petya and George decided to establish an annual donation to the Ballet Academy. They both are doctors in Chemistry in USA. George works as a medical chemist in the Knopp Biosciences company, and deals with the development of drugs for epilepsy. Petya is a biochemist. Currently she prepares biochemical and medical literature for spetsialists. With a view to the long-term program and especially valuable public support the whole team of the “Ballet Academy Marian” was touched and flattered by the gesture of Topalovs family.
Mr. Boni Bonev is a chairman of the Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and our good friend. In August 2014 we were pleased to welcome him as a guest of the “Ballet Academy Marian” and to present him its activities. Mr. Boni Bonev gladly decided to support our summer school with his personal donation. I want to thank him, both personally and on behalf of our team and children involved in the Academy. Dr. Diliana Nikiforova
